Trying to remove a blown bulb in the headlight but someone had the good idea of screwing them in instead of just allowing you to twist/pull them out.

I've tried with various screw bits but it just seems to be rounding off the top. It's not too badly damaged yet so i'm asking here before i go further. What's the best way to proceed? I've a lot of different screw torx bits but anything i use does no good on these crappy screws.

Going to be tricky, but hacksaw blade (without handle) to make a deeper, stronger groove?
Impact drivers can work well but this sounds likely to be a bit lightweight for hammer attack

Thanks guys. The space & the scre depth is far to small to grip anything with. Even if i could the screws would probably give in just like the head.

Wouldn't be able to get a blade in, see pic for what i mean.

You can try hammering the right size bit in before twisting to give it a bit of bite, if its strong enough to take a shock there?

The headlight casing is rounded so wouldn't take the shock & would probably break.

What would be the best way to remove the body after? Reading your thread it seems like the pressure wouldn't be on the body after the head is removed, but i'd like to drill an even smaller hole through the body & then twist it out. But with the size of the body, that's highly unlikely with my drilling skill. Laughing

They are pretty good Thumbs Up or use a dremel to cut a slot as you can't get a hacksaw in there

You dont need to use a sledgehammer. A small hammer and authoritative taps will do the trick if the screw is pretty soft.

Got it out by drilling in the end. Didn't drill the head off all the way yet but the bulb slipped out. thanks for the tips, will still to to get the bloody things off tho.

It's a H3 bulb that isn't working, the element is fine & is exactly the same as pictured.
