Exhaust Wrap

Im planning on buying some exhaust rap for my cruiser.
The intention is to prevent the elements getting to it etc.
Can anyone suggest an specific brand or company that they've maybe had positive experience with

Wrap is to keep the heat in, not the elements out..

i know the idea is to keep the gasses warm to keep them flowing faster.
but would it help with rust etc?

In my experience wrap is crap. You're better off with some barbecue or fireplace paint, rub it all down as much as you can and slap it on. Looks okay and the fireplace paint is easy to touch in if you need too, even with the exhaust still on the bike. If I had the money I'd go ceramic though, as long as it was bike I wanted to keep.

thats all definitely changed my mind.
in that case can any of you guys suggest a good method of removing rust. unfortunately i cannot afford new exhausts.
i tried the hammerite rust remover gel but it did absolutely nothing.
is it just going to be a case of elbow grease and a wire brush?

Good old elbow grease, just sand it down.

I did an exhaust recently using electrolysis, seemed to work quite well although it took a few days. There was a big thread on here about it and a load of stuff on the 'net.

Don't know if its still available but I liked jenolite rust remover. Just get rid of all the loose stuff then apply the jenolite. It converts the rust to a more stable form of iron which you can paint over.



After all that exhaust do tend to rust from the inside out due to the corrosive gases (sulphur dioxide?) and condensation.
