early CG = electrical problem

as you may be aware i have a little CG (1980) and i am getting it ready for it`s MOT.

i had to replace the front head-light cowling as it was beyond repair.
this meant taking all the wires out, and after making sure they all went back where they started.
so far so good?? until i tried to use the horn......... now it just make a tiny squeak and stops working? even though the wires went back to where they should.
also now the indicators come on but dont flash? even with the engine running?
i know 6v electrics are not the best, but any ideas about how to cure this or what to look for will be appeciated.

suggestions about setting the bike on fire have already been made

Make sure every connection is spotlessly clean. You can also run another earth to the frame from the negative on the horn. Should get it honking again.
