R Reg bandit restriction.

What form of restriction or on the carbed R reg (1997??) bandits.

Also where can i get one, asking for a friend who just passed test, his dad wantes it restricted

well theres a mention of 2 types, blades in the carbs or washers in the carb>engine manifold..?

Find out the size and make them

Edit: MY FI certificate for the Hornet says blades. They're washers.

And they can be from airbox to carb or carb to engine.


You can always get a throttle stop made

im sure there was also a set of different carb internals availabe for the bandits aswell

I believe the measurements for a 1996 GSF600 restrictors are:

38mm OD
15.5mm ID.

My carbed (99) bandit uses diaphragms (thats the best way I can describe them in the carb), I guess you can probably do it with washers and thats easier to make.

33bhp on a upright bike is 100mph ish on a faired bike 110 ish... more than fast enough for someone who is newish to the biking world

I haven't top-ended my bike. But this is vid from a couple of weeks ago, on the way to work. Bike is a Bandit 650 '06 (so oil/air cooled) restricted to 33bhp. Like I say, I reckon there's enough power for day-to-day use
