I seen a Yamaha R125 in Inverness the other week and the first thing i thought was WTF have they stuck on the back of the bike. IMHO i would not get that sort of bike for a 125 however it looks not bad but the rear of it is fecking hidious. I though the spade sticking out of my zx10r was bad but this is taking the piss.

This is not the exact bike i seen but wtf check out how far it comes out.

Yup, the rear tailtidy is absolutely massive, but you kinda get over it, its well styled atleast.

Yeah its a nice looking 125 if you want to look like your riding a proper so to speak sports bike. Is it due to laws about the reg etc being over the back wheel?

No idea, trucks can have the plate at the very top of the trailer.

To me it looks odd with a tailtidy on, theres too much gap between the tail and wheel, i guess thats why they did it i suppose.

By law, when a bike comes out of the factory, the rear wheel can't be the thing that's furthest back apparently. I can't remember where I read that though. Smile

The SV's tail is pretty piss poor, too:

You'd think that since they were building it to a budget, they'd try and limit the acres of plastic they have got hanging off of the arse of the bike, wouldn't you? It's almost a sodding rudder.

I really need to buy a tail tidy. And British law needs to allow smaller number plates.

I wouldn't even consider it part of the bikes design, they just sort of stick them on as an after thought to meet the silly rules.

A lot of people will take them off and put on some sort of tail tidy anyway.

They usually make them REALLY easy to take off, they know most people will change it.
