Depends if you win the claim or not.

You should clarify with your insurance company.

surely the will take off the cost of hiring the bike from any final settlement?
& at the over inflated price, i'd be surprised if there was anything left for you.
i'd be looking into this.............
cheers,

Hi

There can be charges. Depends on the exact agreement and whose fault the accident was and whether you win your claim

The rate that the hire bikes are charged at is often horrendous (a few months charges could be more than the cost of buying the hire bike new).

All the best

Keith

Hmmm not thought about this, I'm currently riding a hire bike around and haven't been told of any charges.

The accident was 100% the other persons fault with me, and she admitted to it as well.

Got me worried now Confused

I'd never take a courtesy bike, unless for a day or two. I'd rather go out and buy an old ratter to get about on whilst my claim's being settled.

Wasn't there a member here recently who had a spill on ther courtesy bike and had a huge bill from it?

Oh god don't say that, I've managed to damage the foot pegs and exhaust on mine. Was only a 50 quid deposit would they charge me more or just take the deposit?

No idea I'm afraid. Probably just the deposit if there's no accident claim.

I'd call that a get-out-of-jail card.

i was recently offered one but rejected it, reasons being:

1) i am poor
2) they wanted me to pay £60 or so deposit
3) pay outy £250 if i had an accident on it i think - and lose my deposit

need to make sure with your insurance and the bike hire firm. my insurance didn't tell me about the charges i had to ask for myself which i found quite cheeky of them for not telling me of the charges.

the bike lenders were not going to tell me of any charges either if i didn't ask :@

Yeah thats what I was thinking Smile

My insurance told me I've got to pay £50 deposit and I get fully comp insurance for as long as I have it, although this has a £500 excess

You need to read the small print on the paperwork or check with your solicitors about it.

I hope you took out the ins excess cover......

Or if it was helphire their £10 ins cover in case the case is lost and you have to pay.....
Did they take your card details...If so be very afraid Laughing

Just because the driver admits its their fault to you... Does not mean that is what they tell their ins co, or how the ins co deals with it.
