I've found a jacket on ebay that i really like the looks of :

Ebay link

But i'd like a bit of advice on sizes first if someone can

I'm a 42" chest which i told the seller and he advised me to order the 42" jacket. So will a 42" jacket be exactly that on the chest? or do they make the 42" slightly bigger than that to be a comfort fit ?
Obviously if the jacket is a 42" it's going to be a really tight fit especially if i wanted to wear a jumper under it.

I'd have thought me being a 42" would mean i'd be best off getting a 44" jacket to give me a bit of space?

What do you think lads?

(might be a dumb question but i don't normally buy clothing online so don't know how it works )

Thanks
Dave

Sizes are all over the fooking place.
Best is to find a local dealer and go try on a jacket like the one you're after. You may not get the same model but it will give you a clue to how they work sizes.
Hein Gerick (wot I have a lot of Embarassed ) use a fairly standard size formula but style and fit of different kinds of garment and material differ for comfort and security of protection devices.
Looks like that outfit are non retail trade so you will have to buy and hope.
Or get them to tell you how to measure your chest and arm length. and they will supply a garment to fit. If it dont fit they pay P+P to swap.
Best you can do or you pays you money and takes you chance. Neutral

And hope they are not some E. European mob who model there gear on Gorrilas. Smile

It doesn't work like that for leathers. I tried shed loads of leather jackets on and sizes were all over the place as wallop said.
Some of them has funny shapes. They look cool on display, you wear them and you have a new set of boobs. Check the label, it says "man". Shocked
They should write "gorilla" on the tin.

Which isn't bad either. Not as nice as the ebay one and slightly more expensive but at least i get to try it on first. (HG is only a mile from me)
I'm liking this black/white styling Very Happy

The advice I've been given from sites before is as follows:

Take a deep breath inwards measure your chest, order that exact size.

But as has been said the only way to be sure is to try it on.

My 44 (54 euro) Dianese leathers are now way too tight for me accross the shoulders and around my arms - if I relax my arms still point out at just under 45 degrees.
I tried on some fieldsheer ones in the same size and they were a decent chunk too loose for me.

If you want good protection, try it on or be prepared to send it back/sell it again.
