Well as most of you know, i'm still waiting on my insurance moneys coming through.

Everything has been sent off, i've had the offer for the bike/gear/services....

Now i'm waiting on the money for my injuries to be looked at.

Now, it's been 2 months since the last contact, and my solicitor said he's called numerous times, emailed, faxed, sent letters telling them that it's getting rediculous and the case should have been solved by now, but no. nothing.

They offered no courtesy bike, so i'm struggling without transport, and the best they've offered so far is the CBT to help with getting back on the road.

Anyone had any experiences with zurich before? from waht i've heard, their claims are rediculous.

Cheers

Injury claims take forever unfortunately - probably 18 months. If you've had the offer for the bike and gear, and you're happy with that then why not take a cheque as an interim payment for the time being?

It only comes to £775.... Which would cover my kit....

I suppose i could work with it, and get something but it's not much money.

Not even a courtesy bike though which sucks.

Yeah, they care for new customers, they care when they're getting money from you - 'we'll give you 14 days to send the payment or our debt department will be sent your details' - but when it comes to them having to pay someone else, that's when they change.

Get out of here! Corporations like Zurich are run by normal people just like you and me. Why would they try to stiff people? Where's the mileage in that?

When I was knocked off by a driver who was with Zurich insurance my solicitors got me a courtesy bike within four days and picked my bike up at the same time. Zurich made an interim payment for the written off bike within two weeks to save courtesy bike costs and storing my scrapped bike.

They did however take about eight months to pay for the injuries and 16months to pay for my damaged gear.

I couldn't get a courtesy bike due to my injuries, but now they've mostly healed up, i'm stuck to using the bus with no car license and no bike to use.

It's been 7 months now, it's getting difficult.

Ask your solicitor if they can arrange an interim payment for the cost of your bike & kit.

I meant the medical report, they have the copy of it, and so i'm waiting on them making an offer.

I've emailed the solicitor again about securing the money, it'll get the CG running at least...

Cheers

Zurich can get fucked twice up the bum (no lube) after laying my missus and her whole department off despite them having almost more working coming in than they could deal with. That is all.

There will be more than one medical report.

You'll see doctors and specialists for your solicitors so that they can write their report(s), you'll see doctors and specialists for the insurance company so that they can write their report(s).

After the first medical report is done you're just getting started. Laughing

I've seen the specialist etc, they've got my medical records too...

I was told there was nothing else that needs done on my part as they have the full details of my injuries from the medical specialist...

Cheers

You'll have to see doctors/specialists/etc who're working for your solicitors and you'll have to see doctors/specialists/etc who're working for the insurance company.

The reports written by the doctors working for your solicitor are the medical evidence for your claim, the reports written by the doctors working for the insurance company are the medical evidence for them to fight your claim. It isn't as straight forward as seeing one specialist and that being the end of it.

Has the insurance company admitted liability? If they have then IMO you should go for an interim payment for your bike & kit, I would also be asking the solicitors why they haven't done this already as there might be good reasons. Thumbs Up

Ahh I see. So i'll be waiting on contact from them about seeing one of their specialists?

Yeah, i got a letter from them saying he had admitted full liability (he did to the police right after the crash as well).

I've spoken to the solicitor, waiting on a reply now... i'll see what he says about the interim payment.

Cheers

The driver admitting liability isn't the same as the insurance company formally admitting liability. But hopefully that's what the letter you had was. Smile

Hypothetically, if a driver admits liability then they're saying it was their fault. But if their insurance company thinks the driver did something that broke the T&C of the policy then the insurance company could dispute liability.

I would have thought so, but it'll all depend on the detail.

Your solicitor will be able to give you much better answers than I can. Wink

So i sent the solicitor an email requesting an interim payment....
Quote:

Hi Scott,

Would it be possible for you to arrange an interim payment with the value of the services, gear and bike?

Regards,

Mr Dunkable

And he replied the following:

Quote:
Hello Mr Duncan

I have telephone Zurich Insurance and they will deal with this by tomorrow.

Regards

Scott Sinclair

Does this mean they will be looking into giving me the money for the bike etc or they will actually be setting up the payment?

Cheers

I would be hoping for an interim payment cheque as soon as possible. The cost of your bike & kit is very simple, deciding on a price for your injuries is complicated but the bike and kit couldn't be simpler.

I'd say fire another email back to your solicitor asking what exactly is meant by saying that "they will deal with this by tomorrow" because that could mean a number of different things. Might also be worth asking Scott how long he expects it to take for you to receive an interim payment.
