Basically I bought a Motorhispania RX50 and since I've been riding it, it seems as if the choke is permanently one whilst riding as it splutters and limits my revs in the first three gears until it picks up a little. Today I replaced the exhaust with a turbokit one was a bit of a bitch but finally got it in and its got much worse.
Bike constantly splutters until I manage to gain speed on a slight downhill and then it starts sounding smooth temporarily, It's much harder to gain speed now and probably sit at about 20/30 mph if I'm lucky.
I have a feeling my airbox/carb may be dirty and causing this problem due to petrol starvation or something. Anyone have any suggestions as to what it is before I tear off my tank and get to work tomorrow?

So far i've just removed connector to carb so airbox isnt being used and its running much better now, its actually revs fully in all gears....it just sounds pretty loud instead.
Think that's still a jet issue or could airbox be dirty?

Try a K and n style cone filter on it, dont run it disonnected from the airbox as it could suck in loads of crap

Does the airbox look dirty? My guess is it'll be full of cruft and swimming in oil from the breather pipe.

the airbox exterior didn't seem too bad but this bike had alot of rusted and rounded bolts so I presume this has been sat outside for sometime. Massive pain to get the airbox off of this bike but suppose I shall have to take it off and check the interior so i dont have to pay out much more for parts

well usually taking off the airbox makes the mixture leaner so your bikes running rich if you put the filter back on

you need a bigger jet in,or try a k&n filter

Or the air filter is stuffed full of shite and needs replacing cos it's not flowing any air. Replacing the jet to get it working is a lot more effort than cleaning the air filter.
