Hey kiddies, lately m bike has been making a few different noises and i was wondering if anyone knew what the prob mite be or if i just need my ears checked Embarassed

Lately my CBR 250RR (no jokes please) has been sounding a bit like Macey Gray (the singer)...you know sounds like she has to crack her voice with a big cough...my bike sounds like it just needs to 'cough/backfire' or some thing - it just doesn't sound right in 1st and sometimes 2nd gear (not all the time mind you) but comes good in 3rd

Also i have been having some trouble with sticking gears i guess, sometimes when i'm going from 1st to 2nd it gets stuck in neutral, so i clutch it and try again when it grinds and still doesn't go, sometimes its that bad that i have to pull over or slow down until it goes into 2nd.

It would be muchly appreciated if some one could help me out with my probs.

Cheers all.

When was the last service? i.e. oil change and valve clearances?

Sounds like the carburation may be out. The carbs may need either balancing/cleaning/setting up on a dyno. Has the bike previously been standing for any amount of time?

about the gears...make sure you havent overfilled or underfilled the gearbox and that you have used 10w40 semi synthetic oil

i always used to have gearbox problems when running low on oil
