 |
|
I am getting a bit bored of my standard helmet cam footage ... and would like to shoot some video from the rear of the bike.
When I say 'rear' .. I mean right off the back, so that you get to see almost all of the bike. (somehting like the Dr.Sardonicus videos).
Its for the off road bike so will need to be able to put up with bumps and such.
Just wondering if anyone has done this before and has any advice.
(I know the setup will look 'twatish' ... but I really fancy some footage from that angle... and I have some good lanes near me that I can ride midweek when its quiet) ____________________ There's nothing that shouts "Poor Workmanship" more than wrinkles in the Gaffa tape.

Just the obvious, that the lens would be covered in muck otherwise. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

If it's dry i'd consider trying a forkleg-cam
What it would look like i have no idea, but love watching the front suspension work-out on road bikes.
[edit] that doesn't work does it. The camera must be located further back
Lovely day for it. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

Given my technical drawing skills... I think we can all see how this is going to end up... ie: embarrassingly painful probably.
The red line and the red arrow are the mount and camera... the blue lines are the 'view' I wish to attain.
(oh! and the orange thing is my awesome KTM)

My old rear facing setup, no good on a offroad bike due to the muck thrown up by the rear wheel. ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

Good find
I have started to contstruct an elongated tripod out of plastic pipe.
Will get sone funny looks ... but I am more worried about getting nicked on the short road ride to the lanbes.
Q: if i put a bright coloured cloth/flag at thee end, will that cover me legally ? ____________________ There's nothing that shouts "Poor Workmanship" more than wrinkles in the Gaffa tape.
