Mac OS for PC

can anyone recommend a download location for Mac OS X for PC?

my cpu is an Intel Quad Core jobbie if it matters.

just incase i can't get a proper mac off work (if i do it'll be a short term loan )

Its not the simplest thing to do in the world, but possible.

Depending on all your hardware, might be able to do a tricked vanilla install off a clean torrent.

I wont link you though, should be able to work it out yourself where to download something illegally...

Easiest way would be vmware with a Osx image file, then you can get ubuntu and have 2 cores running osx one with widoze and 1 with ubuntu happy days.

I used the vmware image once and hated it, mouse support wasnt great, might have been my image though and at the time you had to edit loads of backend files to trick OSX.

If you look up hackintosh you will find all the info you need.

If your serious about doing this you should maybe consider buying parts that will work as you are limited by most motherboards and GPU's.

i'll "borrow" a proper mac for a while and see what all the fuss is about

They are great machines if your not going to be doing heavy gaming and very very fast.

They can game when you dual boot windows on them though and steam is now out for MAC.

If you hook one into your Tv, check out PLEX, based on the XBMC project but I think its better and easier to use.

would only be used as a desktop, no gaming, no htpc'ing just office and internet type stuff.

I use my mac alongside my windows 7 Pc

My missus uses a macbook exclusively and loves it.

I will be moving to an imac when they refresh them again.

It is a great OS and rarely goes wrong. If you do go the hackintosh route just keep an eye on updating the OSX as updates can break a hackintosh.

Yeah it was horrible to use you had to edit loads of files to tell it you had multicore at the time and it would crash a LOT.

it would have been nice to have it 100% but was not to be.

this was over a year ago, I guess things have moved on
