I have just bought a nsr 125 but have no manual. can someone please answer a simple question. Which position is "open" or "on" for the petrol supply switch? I have flattened the battery trying to start it and dont want to continue until I am sure that this switch is in the correct possition. The person I bought the bike from told me that the switch was the same as the choke.(anti-clockwise for "on")

There is an 'ON' setting on the tap and on the housing it is attached to. When both line up it is on, when the 'res' and ON line up you have the reserve opened and finally there is an OFF on the tap to shut off the fuel.

Aren't the "on" and "reserve" positions usually more vertical?

Take the little pipe off the connector where it goes into the carb, if fuel comes flowing out, it should be starting, if fuel doesn't come out, turn the tap till it does.

Obviously you'd need to establish where on/reserve are, but at least you'd know it's on and should be starting.
