It's been 10 years? I remember seeing him race at the North West 200, not long before his death. Thanks for the link Dave Thumbs Up

There's a tribute lap of the TT Course this friday evening, don't know how many will turn out but expect the numbers to be high.
I remember the tribute lap after Joey's tragic death ten years ago, thousands turned out and the whole island was gidlocked, kinda tells you how much Joey was loved and respected by everyone here in the Isle of Man. There probably wasn't a single person on the island who didn't know the name Joey Dunlop, a great man, sadly missed.

I was at the NW200 back in 2008 when Micheal Dunlop won the 250cc race just 2 days after his father Robert died during pratice on the same circuit. To stand there and watch 100, 000 spectators mostly in tears but clapping and waving at the same time is an experience I will never forget. Only a Dunlop could do that sort of thing to people. What a truely amazing racing family they are.

Yeah i was there in 2008 as well, it was amazing to see Michael Dunlop taking the win just days after his fathers death, and as said about the reaction from everyone watching, it will be a time of my life i will never forget.

Im gutted i did not get into road racing when Joey was doing his thing, what a family of racers, was very interesting to watch documentary about him and all his race wins.

This is Michael Dunlop as he just took the lead going into church corner to win in 2008. Thumbs Up

We have been over in 2008 and 2010 and the whole family supports the Scottish riders but always want to see Michael doing well, seems a really down to earth nice guy.

Brillant photograph Stevie, Micheal rode the wheels of the bike that day.Heres an older photo of Joey taken back in 1993 at the UGP, he was just starting to get a few grey hairs then and you can see the concentration in his face prior to the start of the race.Quality is not good as its a digital photo of a print.
