Joey Dunlop Tribute Lap

There was a rideout on the island this evening. One lap of the TT Course, organised at the request of Joey's wife Linda Dunlop on the 10th anniversary of his death. A little over 300 bikes took part which isn't bad for a Friday evening. All around the course there were crowds of people clapping and waving as the bikes went past, a pleasant reminder of just how popular Joey was in the island. Proceeds from the rideout will go to the Joey Dunlop Foundation. The foundation was set up in Joey's memory to provide accomodation to disabled visitors to the island, they have purchased the large house at Braddan Bridge and converted it to suit the needs of the disabled.
