bought me a royalstar xvz 1300

not quite normalised anymore. still working on it, changing bars to flatter ones, less swept back for comfort.

gonna make a bolt on, bolt off rack for rallys. tent n speeing bag is all it needs to carry.

gonna redo the tak as not happy with flame look but am keeping the maltese cross theme.

Rip off the rear wheel arch.

Fit some drag bars and I would ride it.

I like it Embarassed

Bought myself some bars. 50mm rise, slightly swept back off ebay to see what its like with them. if its ok I will go with set T bars with risers built in and do away with the yoke.
I thought about total flats but I would have to go for more swept back risers to be comfy and will have the wrist ache issue again.

As for your speedo Idea theres no point, its all on the big blob on the tank.

Thought about the black on the exhaust but there stainless so cant do it.

the dylemma I have is the melt factor of the rear pipes. I sat scew to see behind me whilst stood and melted the stretchy bit behind my knee.
Ive been looking into either exhaust heat wrap in silver or some stainless shields.

Front light wise. Im keeping this one for now and have bought two 4" spots that are going to be fitted down from a bracket on the shiny bolt you can see just between the rear brake lever and the exhaust. these will come into play either with the high beam or dissable to headlights highbeam and have these instead. (the actual headlight just spreads light about rather than focusses it.
both front and rear light along with the back of the number plate holder have been airbrushed so.....
if anyone can show me some pics of some twin spots for the frot or some other set up great..

Ive also bought 2 30cm strips of red LED's stick on that I will attatch to the back U shaped bit to use for more visability as the rear light is garbage. I will wire them up either as continual lights if there fairly dull or as brake lights if not.

pipes..

They are loud, I will do a youtube thing another day but I am keeping the baffles in due to 6am 630am set offs to work Smile

waiting for bits to arrive before more pics are taken

https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/04042009545_167.jpg

just another pic for you photoshoppers to think of light set ups.

ok, swapped the bars and had the carbs fiddled with.
also managed to fabricate a bracket for a rack that is just perfect for the job, able to unbolt with 3 bolts

I have the spotlights, just not fitted them yet, hopefully doing it tomorrow.

need to sort cables out I know but the trouble is I will have to buy complete new sets as thes are too long with the shorter bars.
they can wait.
gonna buy new vinyls in a few weeks.
decided to keep the TEAMAN lettering and then have a forward facing skull on the tank. anyone who thinks they might know of any pics that will look good on the tank feel free to put up some pics.

some new bits n bobs.
just resprayed the tank. took me about 15 hours in total. black with purple metal flake.
need to sort cables and whatnot on th efront and possibly put flats on.

I'm thinking about some forwards instead of foot plates.
and the rear is waiting for me to make a seat and some pegs for my daughter.

I thought that putting the reg plate right at the back woutl work as a mud guard but does it hell

I really dig this bike. I have been running into dead ends on the exhaust, and was curious where yours came from, or what other models I might be able to use systems from. any help would be greatly appreciated as the entire project seems to be resting on what happens with the exhaust.
Thanks, I appreciate it.

bit slow to reply but this is a straight through stainless drag pipe, 8" baffles in the top pipes due to shortness and lack of back pressure, bottom ones dont have any.

I'm still trying to sorce some forwards out and then I'm either going to exchange the rear shock or hard tail it by adapting it to fit a wider wheel. This will make it a harder, lower ride so possibly a sprung saddle. tractor seat poss?

Suggestions for pictures for the tank?
https://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w269/teflons-torque/XX-Forum%20Posts/bobtail.jpg
Was looking at the pic you put up, copied it, to get a close up of the tank and the picture was already there!
look at the reflection in the metal......
slightly distorted 'Urban Skyline'.....
Think that THAT suits the bike perfectly.....
Is it Sheffield, BTW.....
Could you get some snaps of the roof-lines around the town and get them worked into murals...... AS THOUGH they are the reflections of the landscape the bike lives in....
Getting deep and artistic, but the alegories are many....
JUST think that it could REALLY work on THAT bike, for some reason...... but your ride.....
Oh.. and a sort of 'grey' or more like 'smokey' dark purple candy... not a screaming colour, but ritch, with a hard granite sort of under-tone.... sort of capturing the 'feeling' or 'mood' of the bike in teh paint, if you get what I mean.
