So, basically, i recently came off my ybr125 and managed to bend the majority of the front section. At the moment the estimate is about £500 for repairs.
Now, me being 6'5 means that the ybr was never really a suitable bike for me. My plan is: buy myself a new, taller, 2nd hand bike; slowly fix the ybr and sell it. However, not sure which bike to go for. I'm on a limited budget of about £2k but am willing to go up. So far my travels have led me to a Yamaha DT125X which from what i've read seems to be a pretty awesome bike.
So, in short opinions on the DT! Thanks. ____________________ Yamaha YBR125 (2010) - BROKE! |

Fix up the YBR 'slowly'......
yeah, right...... I can just TELL you are so gob-smackingly full of enthusiasm, that you just CANT WAIT to get the tool-box out and start ordering bits from we-moto.....
So after a little pause.... will you REALLY ever finish such a 'project'?
Do you REALLY actually WANT such a project? Are nearest & dearest going to tolerate you haveing 'that heap of junk' lying around, and NOT give you the, "You EVER going to do anything with that pile of scrap?!" moan?
Stick it on e-bay, mate, as is, 'Damage Repairable', still got T&T.....
Theres enough idiots out there looking for a bargain, you'll probably get almost as much for it from some-one wanting something 'on the cheap' as you would for it in repaired working condition! Even if you dont, you still stand to get a better return on it, than spending any time or money on it.
But DT125's.
HORRIBLE bikes. Dirty, stinky two-strokes. Too tall for thier own mass. Block treads, soggy suspension, perverse geomtry, too high a centre of gravity, thier total DEATH TRAPS, mate!
ONLY saving grace is that the engines normally blow up, being a horrible two-smoke, before you get into any seriouse trouble.
Wouldn't buy one if you paid me!

Its ALL his fault!

You dont HAVE to be mad to buy a DT125..... but its a LITTLE bit of lunacy that can go a LONG way! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
