Well, i came off it last nite.

Some tit had lost their wheel trim and left it right in the middle of the road. There was a car behind me leaving me about a foot distance, so i revved up a bit and so did he, and flew straight past me, as i tried to dodge out of the way, my front wheel went into the wheel trim and i went straight over the handlebars at about 40mph.

The bike is okay ish, i lost one of the side plastics (on the fuel switch side) and my indicator on the same side.

The front fearing is scratched to fuk, and my fuel line ripped straight off the tank and just before the in-line filter.

It's running okay, just cosmetic damage, i spent a few hours this morning putting a new fuel line n tha on..

Ah well, im in pain! lol

Dave...

Sorry to hear you came off mate, though I don't see how it was the car's fault?

You need to practice avoiding things in the road - don't become fixated on the object or you'll end up hitting it (you go where you look and all that).

Also how the hell did a wheel trim make you fall off?

Least you'll heal mate and the bike will be on the road with minimal cost (shame the panels cost loads Sad ).

Oh and your a motorist by the way. Laughing

well, firstly. it was a 30mph road right near a school and he decided to fly over the speed bump doing about 55mph. He passed next to me with about 2 feet between us and pulled back over quickly. So, i swerved the bike and my front wheel went into the wheel trim lying in the road and the bike slid out from under me.

I nearly hit a wheel trim once, I was trying to keep up with Keith (Kickstart) on a dark country lane (him on Bandit 12 me on RS Confused ) it just appeared but somehow I avoided it! Very Happy

Never mind though at least your ok, the bike can be fixed and wounds will heal, unless you keep poking the wounds with a sharp object reguarly.

It was when I followed you from the wheel out to the A41 on those dodgy roads, I just noticed a wheel trim pop into view and just avoided it, it was in the centre of the lane!

Nasty, glad to hear your ok though. I hope it doesn't set you back to much! You might be able to pin the fairing up for now if you don't mind riding with scars. All the best D

as a temporary measure so i could get to work i held it up with cable ties!! lol

since then, i've fibreglassed the headlight fearing and bent the bolts which hold it on back into place.

The side fearing is still a bit wobbly and scratched to f*ck. Ah well.
