Used bike mileage

Hi all,

Would you buy a 7/8 year old Honda CBR600f which has only covered 5,000 miles, or would you go for something which has covered a bit more?

I've just bought a 12 year old ('98) CBR600F3
Only had 7195 miles on it. Looking at the MOT certs it seems that the previous two owners just didn't ride it much per year. Mines fine!

That's what I thought aswell, although its had two owners from new. I hear that (incorrectly) storing your bike can be bad for it, is there anything I should check even more thoroughly than usual when inspecting it?

Cheers for that idea, I'll give the paperwork a scrutiny! Were you weary of buying it with that mileage or did the condition sell itself?

The condition sold it for me. It's pristine. Only once I bought it did I realise how little mileage the owners did in between servicing.

yerr have a look and see if the MOT'S add up.

if you're going to see it,start it up from cold and make sure theres no blue or white smoke else it will be a hefty bill to fix

i bought my fazer and got it delivered,only realised after running it for more than 5 mins that it smoked,luckily all it was,was too much oil over the level

There is a cbr 400 in mcn for sale with only 900 on the clocks

Its normaly rubber seals that suffers the worst from being left for a few years, things like fork seals can go hard and end up leaking.
