Had the Honda CG done in metallic Black, turned out very well for a spray can job, unfortunately the Halfrauds Laquer turned out to be not so petrol proof.
Big circular stain on the tank now, was wondering can I give the tank afew more coats of the original coloured paint?
Fully aware it won't be a factory perfect finish or anything but throwing afew more coats on seems easier that sanding it all down again. (Wonder if I'll be saying that when it starts to peel off )
Could I just Sand down the current coat to make it as smooth as I can and then Spray over it?
Just trying to get as much info on the options I have, not too concerned about doing at soon as its winter and I don't have a garage to do said spraying in so I'll wait till the Summer either way. |

Only thing being is I'am not too sure if the stain is the buggered laquer or the paint is gone underneath as well? Suppose theres only one way to find out |

It's alot paler although I wouldn't say white, still I might be in luck....
Sand it, buff it perhaps? Then re-Laquer! Least Ive got a plan now haha

Buffing is polishing. If you sand then buff, the paint won't stick, it'll be like spraying a non stick frying pan |
