License issue's

Since i've lost my license i'm curious as to if I get my driving license will I regain my car license or does it only apply if you had it prior to loosing my license?

I'm uneducated on this situation mate but I can only assume you'd have to be eligible for a licence (if that also makes sense? )

I'm assuming that because you've lost your licence you'll have to wait the year (it's a year ban isn't it?) until you've regained it, and then go for the car entitlement.

Hope this helps, but I'm too intoxicated to make sense even to myself at the minute.

You need a licence to take a car test, this is usually a provisional. As you have lost your licence you don't have a provisional and aren't allowed one, so can't take your test or on road lessons. You will probably have to do the extended retest to get your licence back again. With a car it requires you to do a longer test with all manuvours in it, i should imagine the bike test will probably be the same, maybe a bit longer on the roads.

A mate got caught doing 35 in a 30 on his moped at 16, then got 3 points in his car for a fucked headlight, lost his licence and had to do the extended retest. I don't really see why he needed to prove he could drive a car again

There seems to be abit of confusion here, due to my obviously crap first post. Here's the run down.

Caught by a camera,
Still in probationary period,
Got 6points,
Only had a bike license,

Do I need to take an extended test?

The guy I spoke to today from the training place I use, said that the extension only applies for serious things like drink driving.

Would you wait until October to do DAS or do it on a 125now and have another 2 years restricted?

Are you still on a proviosnal? If so its an automatic ban for a year (is it a year) until you can reapply for your license.

Similarly if you rack up 6 points in 2 years of passing bike or car, then again you get another ban.

I haven't doubled checked but thats how it works as far as i'm aware

i believe that if you passed your test and then get 6 points its a ban but no time limit.

as far as i am aware you can reapply for your provisional right away.

but i could be wrong (normally am)

With the the 6 point rule isn't just the licence is revoked rather than a ban,

So you can apply for your provisional straight away.

But if you where doing silly speed when going past the camera they may of banned you anyway.

What speed were you doing to get 6 points?

I got caught speeding twice Once last year on my way home down the a180 doing a silly speed but since it was clear and around midnight the copper decided to lower it and rodger me over the bonnet instead.

Then this year I got another on my way to the Burlesque ball at Caneby corner on the A15. I was only doing 80.

I can reapply straight away, i'm just curious as to if I do my car test I will regain my bike aswel. Thus 2 birds with one stone

I've got my photocopy of the DVLA with the letter stating it's been revoked, so I know I have to pay for another paper bit.

The silly thing is, I asked the DVLA if I could keep riding and be illegal, due to my details been removed from the system because I have to pay for another paper part.
The reply was 'No'
My reply "Why the fuck can't I just pay for a new one over the fucking phone then?"

If you have just had your license revoked under the New Driver Act then you can reapply for a provisional license at any time. As far as I know you will have to redo every test again as if you never had a license.

There needs to be some sort of glossary, "loose" a license is way too vague. It could either mean, a ban, a revokation or a disqualification.

It's very simple:

Since you've been revoked under the new driver rule, to re-gain a full license you must re-take any of the tests you had already previously passed to regain your full license. You cannot take a test for a category you didn't hold previously.
