have an aprilia sr50 carb model. I bought a brand new battery for it and thought this would sort the problem it starts on the first kick of the kick start but when i press the electric start i hear a clicking noise and the very odd time it goes ! anyone any idea of my problem ? thanks

Clean & tighten battery/relay/starter motor connections & especially the main earth on the engine Neutral

would this defo sort the problem mate ? also where is the starter relay situated ?

It would, if thats what's wrong with it Neutral
Don't know your ped , but it should be joined on to the main positive ( red) cable from battery .
