Hello today i am going to set about doing my tappets and timing on my yamaha and was woundering how i tighten the timing chain and how it should be done on these bike, and were the timing marks are.

get a manual and read it, it will have the info you need.

Yes I agree , then when you've done it once its a job that can be done again in half an hour & should be done periodically as will be explained in a manual , also you will find other things & settings that no doubt you'll need to do in future .

If someone can give him a clue as to what the valve clearances are I can guide him through the job, as to the timing chain tentioner, is it an auto type or manual adjust? If anyone knows and can share it would be appreciated.

Inlet 0.05-0.09mm
0.002-0.003 in
Ex O.11-0.15 mm
0.004-0.006in
Ok hope this helps ....R ( yamaha sr 125 )

If its older than 2000 I think ? it will be manual easy to tell as it has a plastic cap over it 17 or 19mm that you take off to get to CCT. ok...(BUT YOU STILL WANT TO GET A MANUAL) R
