Right...I officially hate electrics Brick Wall

Trying to wire up twin dominator headlights to my 929 fireblade (streetfighter project). I can only get it so i have full beam on low beam, full beam on full beam and position light on low beam!!! Nothing happens when position light is engaged. If i test the three headlight sockets from the bike with a multimeter, i can isolate the low and high beam wires but nothing for the position light. So, questions.....

1 - Do the dominator headlights have position lights or are the really dull bulbs lit when i engage low beam actually low beam?

2 - Why do i seem to have no power from the position light wiring of the bike? Would a failed headlight relay cause this?

3 - If i have a position light switch, will my bike fail an MOT because it doesnt work?

Cheers all!

The dominators do have position/side lights, but they have their own live & negative wires. You have two H4 bulbs which are joined together and have one socket to light them both up. My bike is outside at work at the moment so I'll go out when I get a chance and let you know the colours for earth, dipped and full.

My dominators had bullet connectors for the side lights and the three prong connector for the dipped/main bulbs.

(I don't actually have the dominator lights anymore, but I still have the wires from it that I butchered to fit the new headlight Wink )

Right, ignoring the sidelights for the time being, you'll have a 3 pin female connector coming out of the headlights with a black, white and yellow wire going into each contact. Black is your ground, yellow is full beam, and white is dipped.

You do realise the 3 pin plugs on your fireblade are just the Hi and Low beam feeds, the third is earth. The position light wire is seperate, think it's a single bulb that goes into the bottom of the headlight on the 929, most probably a small thin 2 pin black plug.

And Mark your info helped me sort the low and high beam. Very grateful guys. Was about to beat the living daylights out of my bike Embarassed
