Clutch troubles.. :(

So ive got a Z250 Kawasaki and the rod that goes from inside the engine/clutch just pulls out? So when you dip the clutch it turns that rod but the rod doesnt seem to be doing anything on the other end? Any help would be great and i can upload pics if that helps. barney

sounds like a retaining pin has come out, the only thing you can do is to remove the cover and have a look.

Turning it will do nothing, it works by being pushed via a worm gear on the cover that goes over it, it'll only do something with the cover bolted on and the clutch lever being operated, you can't shift it by hand as it pushes against the clutch pressure plate. Works exactly the same as a normal clutch just from the opposite side of the engine. The rod will just pull straight out, make sure you put it back in the right way, some are slightly tapered at the end, the end with the shortest 'clean' bit will be the one that should go into the clutch side.
