From March 09 and Nov 08 respectively. We have a new government, things change, my brain isn't positronically linked to BCF's search function and lets be honest, no one would ever post anything if they first had to search for previous threads on the same topic.

I've never know anybody take this test seriously and not end up roughly where you 2 have. It is interesting the difference between left and right, authoritarian and libertarian. e.g Stalin being more left wing than ghandi, thatcher being more right wing than hitler, mugabe more left wing than the dalai llama etc

The point is though, Stalin was left and Authoritarian/Ghandi was left and Libertarian. Thatcher was as far to the right as Hitler but was also Libertarian (contrary to what a great many will now try to posit) Hitler was pure Authoritarian.

When you think about it, I suppose all of it clashes with human nature anyway. People are greedy so like the idea of the right and its capitalism but don't like the idea of socialism and its limitations. However, people are also a bit lazy so think they are owed the kind of living socialism can bring them.

China have got it right then (except for the human rights thing) Socialist Authoritarian state with right/capitalism when it suits.

Which is really cheating.

smegballs, I think that the relevance of the questions was dependable not just on a person vs bigger picture basis..
But I was using that according to how much say I think governments should have in dealing with peoples lives and liberties.. IE the lesser the better.
In other words, to myself at least and I'm sure you'll agree;
Protecting our liberties, freedoms, choices and human rights etc is equally as important a matter as foreign 'policy' -I hate that word.
