I snapped my rear off on the YBR about 9 months before selling it, filtered past cops etc, never had a problem.

I wasn't going to risk the front though, for some odd reason the front seems more important than the back.

And taking your L plate off just for nods? no brainer...

Surely having a licence with no points and having no fines is better then having nods? Most bikers nod me, and i have L's Front and back. If your that worried that your not getting 'nods' do your test to get rid of your L's? Thumbs Up

Keep both mine on, got a small one behind my screen which is plenty visable and a rear mudguard with a L printed on.Not worth having a bang which may not be your fault and then having your claim thrown out for not riding within the terms of your licence. Thumbs Up

I get nods from motorcyclists any ways. Most of them come when I move out the way when filtering and they come up behind me. I know I am a slow filterer so I let them past. Out of the dozens of other motorcyclists a day I see, only 1 or 2 wont acknowledge me.

I can see it might get a tad more respect from drivers who think your a proper motorcyclist, but in all honesty, after 14 years of cycling the roads of London, I have come to the conclusion most motorists are Muppet's, and nothing you do can change that. Mr. Green

Some bikers just don't nod. End of.

I nod to everyone on 2 wheels. L's or not. But there is a street tripple on route to work that i see everyday. He dosn't nod to me. But i nod everyday. I've started waving now, the ignorant asshole, he just looks at me. Laughing

As for the cars. I do feel there is a mentality that when they see the L plate it's "I must overtake!".
I see it with my mate on the weekends. If hes at the back theres people looking to overtake, close to him etc. I then repay the favor Twisted Evil

End of the day, front L, its not worth 3 points imo. Put it back on, pull your tampon out and get your test done. Thumbs Up

I always nod to learners. I remember being there, I was on a Honda 50 (MT50) in the pissing rain and got the piss taken out of me by four blokes in a shitty fiesta cos they beat me off the lights and I was getting soaked.

I now have a GSXR1000. Bastids face front now at the lights and don't even try.

Actually I've seen alot of "learners" being better riders than some nobs on bigger bikes.

Why do cruisers get looked down on? When I think of cruisers I think of Easy Rider. I always thought that was a cool film and would have thought cruisers had some air of coolness to them?
