Hey guys, I know it's not a motorcycle etc but was wondering if anyone can help me. I have picked up an "Atco 1236 Garden Tractor" for the sum of £30. Most of the wiring had melted and was in a state of a "non-runner". Well I managed to find a wiring diagram after much searching and have cut out all the crap etc. Now all it needs is a battery. What sort of batter does something like this need? The engine is a Briggs and Stratton 280000 series (12hp, 465cc). She has electric start too. What would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Joe

I had an ancient ride on mower with a B+S 12hp leccy start engine. When i bought it, it had a small 12v car battery. Nothing massive, it only needs to start the engine. Once running, the battery could be removed as it produced its own supply once going.
Ive now got the engine, axles and steering in a buggy frame, geared up slightly Wink Unfortunatly the battery was slung years ago so cant give the exact specs. I use a jump starter on the engine once every blue moon to fire it up.
