Well i'm back on the road with a 06 Comet GT 250. It's got 3000 miles on the clock and set me back the princely sum of £600 on Ebay....
After a week of commuting i'm well impressed with the bike as a package for a bargain price. One thing i'm not inpressed with though are the stock tyres in the wet....they are Shitko or was it Shinko..........I'm after a set of BT 45's or Sport Demons..........are either much better? ____________________ Current ride - Yamaha MT-07 |

Not sure if the pic will work but i'll give it a shot.........wouldn't want people to think it doesn't exist
I've just given her a full service with oil, filter, plugs, pads, brake fluid.......so she's running really well for my all year hack. Going to go a bit mad with the ACF50 later to hopefully protect her throughout the winter!
Won't matter if I still have the stock tyres as it will be ending up on it's side ____________________ Current ride - Yamaha MT-07 |

I'n not a fan of BT45s myself, but I do like Pirelli, so I'd go for the Sport Demons - well actually, I'd find a tyre designed to be grippier personally, because I like grip . |

Thanks guys, I don't really mind about the level of dry grip as even the Shitko's are ok in the dry. My daily commute involves lots of dual carriageways and lots of roundabouts which at speed in the wet give an experience the ice road truckers would be proud of ____________________ Current ride - Yamaha MT-07 |

I rode through two winters on BT45's and don't have a bad word to say about them Plus on my GPZ I was easily getting low enough for KD if I had leathers so they are definitely grippy enough once they are warm. ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

I fucking hate shinkos.
They're on the GT250R in my garage.
Ragging the bike on a 2 hour ride and thought "tyres should be warm by now" go into a corner, power out and the rear starts sliding. FFS the bike has no power to speak off! ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

Never had an issue wih bt45's myself. Wet conditions or dry, have even used them on trackdays and they were fine.
Have to admit the Comet looks better than the faired version. ____________________ Suzuki GT250 x7------- Fazer 600------CB250RS------Aprilia Rally 70----- Bandit 600
