Anyone tried cheap ebay baffles?

Got a 9" Scorpion which is beginning to annoy me, so wanting to get a new baffle as the original is lost.

Has anyone tried these ebay baffles? I don't want it to kill the sound but just tone it down a little.

Pretty simple bit of kit but i'm guessing the different shapes/groove create different sounds with baffles, so just making sure beforehand.

Cheers for that. How much did it reduce the sound? I don't really want to go too quiet, but it definitely needs to be toned down a bit.

Can anyone confirm that drilling holes in a baffle would gradually make it louder?

When I tried one on my scorpion can it didn't change the sound too much, it seemed to change the tone more than the volume along with a sort of 'pffty' sound.

Cutting it shorter or drilling holes will increase the volume, in theory.

That said, I only used it for maybe two hours, I never found the scorpion to be too loud and have never been stopped for it.

I find with my baffle in the sound has a lot less bass and is a lot quieter too. I prefer it with the baffle in as I don't feel like an advert to get nicked and I don't end up with a headache if I forget to wear ear plugs.

Drilling holes in it should louden it up. .

THAT made my bike police friendly! It mutes the bass slightly on my micron on the blade but make it sound a lot sweeter and raspier... you can actually hear the valve train whining when warm and rattling on startup.

I recommend it... dare I say, I actually preferred it with the baffles in... but as soon as I got to london, out they went again!

The good thing about the viper one is that it's curved so if you have an angled spout, you won't have any issues fit clearance and fitment. Oh, make sure you check the bore of your outlet. Most of the bikes have 50mm spouts. It fits nicely and aesthetically speaking, it looks like as if the can came with the baffle as standard. The integral nut on the baffle is secured nicely with the spring washer and bolt giving an even distance between the baffle and outlet spout inner wall.

I tried one;

It noticeably reduced the noise level
It was sapping power massively, around 10BHP
(Admittedly running a custom map)

That was on a VTR1000 SP2 with slip on Akrapovics (No baffle inserts originally)

Tried one on my Akra it didn't make any noticeable difference to mine.
