 |
|
After both my fantails died, I got some White cloud mountain minnow fish. 4 to be precise ...
Now I am pretty sure some are boys and some are girls ... I have some egg clusters around the filter area, so the girl/s at least are mature. The eggs have been there about a week now (she keeps putting more clumps on) but nothing seems to be happening ... so I presume they are unfertilised??? Or am I just being a bit premature (pun accepted!!! ) in thinking they should have developed into fry by now??!!?
Finally, assuming the boys just need to get their game on, how long do the eggs last before they don't respond to a good spunking?
BTW this is a minnow

No idea if they're infertile or not but I can only presume you've put the eggs in a little hatchery enclosure type thing. Otherwise they'll get gobbled up straight away.
Get a Siamese fighter, male & female. They're quite interesting to breed.
God I miss not having any fish. |

I have Platys in my fishtank and they have live fry and lots of them, which is a pain as if they keep multiplying the tank will go pop!

Where is the option for the female eggs being faulty?

I don't think this one will be doing much breeding now
Been a while since I have had a fish tank fatality ...
...
So, is it down the bog, in the bin, in the garden or in the frying pan?!?!?

Maybe your males aren't fertile yet.
They normally fertilize the eggs fast after the female lays them.
I don't think they will hatch in a week though lol
Would probably be around 20 days or so. So don't panic just yet |
