Ive never really found any of the ' cheaper ' dremels to be all that good. Mainly the chuck grip being a bit poor letting the bit spin, which only makes the problem worse.

Cheers. Although by 'cheaper' i didn't mean the cheapest one about, just the cheapest one that's decent.

If you are ever considering buying some budget priced items just remember this old adage: ''When did you ever buy anything cheap that was any good?''

I haven't asked for budget items, i asked for the cheapest item which is decent, which could be £100 for example (hopefully not..)

It's true, but sometimes you can get a budget item that'll do the job the same, just don't use it too often lol.

The trick with cheap stuff, is to find the chinese factory that makes the expensive tools and find their own brand rather than the one with the known brand sticker.

I have a draper one, does the job OK and was cheap.

Is this for cutting caliper pins? If the pads are separated you can also get to them with a hacksaw.

The only one I've tried is an actual dremel. They aren't that expensive though, you can get one for £35 then buy some cheapo bits on ebay to keep the price down.

I'm sure that there are plenty of half decent ones by other brands though, I should imagine anything by black and decker, draper etc etc will be ok.

Yup the pins. Although i can't split the calipers as the Allen heads are also stuck solid. Will have a look at these Draper ones, i have a torque wrench made by them which has been pretty good.

Thanks, will have a search. There was a lot of unbranded ones for cheap which i wanted to avoid.

The ebayer who i bought the caliper from is sending out another, so hopefully it won't need cutting.
