Ok so on my yzf 750 key snapped off in barrel.

I had an old srx 400 rotting in the garage so i took the ignition off it and stuck it on the yzf.

The wire colours on the yzf are brown, red, blue and blue and red.

On the srx they are brown, red, black, black and white and red and yellow.

So i connected the red and brown and bike starts, now heres the strange thing, i never connected any of the other wires but my headlights still work, however the dash and rear light dont work. Obviously this is because the red and blue and blue wire on yzf loom are not connected.


But how come the headlight still work, and could i just hook up the dash light power cable and the rear light cable to the front light power cable.

Headlight is powered from the generator and comes on via a relay, the other stuff is powered direct from the battery via another connection in the key barrel, which I'd guess isn't connected? Om nom nom.
