Bubba's gonna get ya!

Place was a spunkhole, we had a jcb stolen and a diesel bowser emptied in the night. Ended up having night security there.

I'm not been racist here, but is this area of London all it's cracked up to be or is the Land Lord trying to shit us up?

Discuss.

in short the land lord is talking out his arse.

to be honest you are more likely to be shot or mugged if you were black.

ignore this lot, some of the most "trendiest" spots in london are around the corner from the worse
(eg brixton, peckham)
as long as your not a known street pharmacist and dont wear gang colours you'll be fine Laughing Thumbs Up

I used to live in SE24 (Tulse Hill), most of South London was pretty rough. But probably not as bad as your landlord is making out, saying that I did get mugged twice when I lived there Laughing
Once when I was 13 by some weird homeless looking black dude who held a screwdriver to my neck and made off with about 60p Confused
I'd just carry on as normal and try not to put yourself in any dangerous situations.

I live In a small village in Norfolk now where the only crimes committed are incest and beastiality, what happens in the village stays in the village Thumbs Up Wink

Spent a year living in Brixton which is spot the whiteman and I never had any issues. Just got offered drugs a lot which was ok. It's usually the gangs shooting eachother, they leave everyone else alone, as long as you don't try and get a name for yourself you'll be fine. I found Brixton to be a really cool place to live after a little while living there.. always had music playing on the streets and nice range of different foods being cooked all the time. I miss it a little.

Only tip i'd give you is don't leave anything out that people can see by looking through your windows. We never left anything downstairs of any value, and even had the smallest tv known to man as the main liviing room tv. The people who are desperate for drug money break into a load of houses, and any excuse will have them in your house stealing whatever they can.

We had about 10 break-in attempts, just use common sense really.

Funny that whenever I go over the tamar it is usually east or west not north/south.

Confused why?
burglary happens in London no matter what location your compass states

like bubbs said, if your not involve in that life style it wont effect you.

the gangs are more interested in fighting each other then bothering the random working class folk.

in reponse to the OP
its quite the oppistie to your land lords tale.
if a white guy walk down the street wearing a suit of money, and a black guy walked on the other side of the street wearing the wrong gang colours

our expensively dressed white gentlemen would be the one to likely get to his destination
(not that race has anything to do with it)
people over exaggerate about how bad these areas are

Agreed, perception is always much worse than reality.

I was shitting myself when I first got to Brixton thinking I was going to get shanked/shot/beaten up. I was more likely to get beaten up back home in Wales to be honest.

just takes a little time to adjust.

Used to live and work around Peckham, Brixton, Tulse Hill even across to Deptford area.

Hated living in all the above places. I had 2 attempted muggings in 4 years. Attempted as I never used to have a pot to pee in so they didn't get anything out of me. Both times though were late at night, headphones on, wandering along dumbly not paying attention to the world around me.

Most of the gun / knife crimes happened between gangs or people getting involved in stuff they should know better than to get involved in. Like everyone has said really. If you know something could get you into gang related trouble, or get you mixed up with the wrong people, don't do it. You'll probably be fine.

I remember when I was staying in a motel in Inglewood LA, which has a dodgy reputation. I arrived in the evening and noticed the motel rented rooms by the hour and that the motel sign had lots off bullet holes in it, so alarm bells were ringing.

Once I got in my room all I could hear was gun shots all evening coming from somewhere behind the motel.
I was so scared I just sat in the dark, too afraid to even watch the 24 hour porn channel, it was like a fucking war zone outside. things quietened down as the night went on and I fell asleep pretty early.

It wasn't until I went out the next morning and noticed that there was a bloody shooting range right next to the motel Embarassed Razz

Hop on a bus for the princely sum of £2 and head for a place called 'West Croydon'. Spend an hour there and soak up the ambiance, then hop on a bus back to Woolwich. Then you can post about how pleasant Woolwich is. Thumbs Up

Grow a pair and earn some respect in your community, I do not mean go out tooled and looking for a ruck but learn to fit in with life in the area. People do not dump stuff in your garden just because they are Asian, you have obviously been your normal charming self and gone out of your way to annoy him or his family.
Threads with titles like " I hate Ni**ers" are at least honest in there intention, this thread is racism by the back door and is intended to cause resentment and hatred by the most cowardly of routes.
