The Schuberth C3 sounded perfect until you said cheap
I tried one on in HG once, really nice lid, but too pricey at something like £450 if my memory serves. I think it was supposed to be the world's quietest flip front lid or something.
I would be interested in a cheap quiet flip front too, in the end I reduced the noise from my Caberg Trip by buying a full face and getting contact lenses. ____________________ Bikes: GZ125>CBR125>Yamaha MT03>Triumph Sprint ST 955i

Hi
As I understand it one reason you get a build up of wax in your ears is as a defence against noise. Trouble with ear plugs is that they tend to prevent his wax coming out easily.
Might be worth getting your ears syringed out and then use ear plugs.
Otherwise I think you will be lucky to get a cheap helmet that meets more than one of your other requirements.
All the best

l just got a shoei multi-tec a few weeks ago and love it!.Matt Black £365.00 l did expect it to be a bit noisy as my caberg flip is....compared to my normal lid - Arai viper gt.
The shoei is notiecably quieter than my Arai !! in my opinion, it does'nt have a drop down visor!!, but l got mine from thevisorshop.com & got a free 'whispa kit' l only use the chinbar part of it & you dont even know its on, the other bit is a full wrap round the neck thing which you might appreciate with your no ear plugs issue. l also use either the mid tint visor(free) with helmet or black visor (£37.99 from racevisors.com) < this was cheaper from them .The multi-tec is brill in the comfortable stakes too,my caberg was'nt so comfy for me anyway.cheers |

could try things like those covers for the bottom of the helmets that stop bugs coming in, im sure they would reduce noise also.
a great method for me to quieten down a helmet without forcing sponge in your ear is to put a hoodie on, hood up then helmet on. one with quite a thick hood, wool is best, this does get rid of alot of wind noise. ____________________
