I'm 23, I had a similar attitude to you too. I bought a Hornet after sitting on some 400s, a couple of 500s and lots of 600s.

Try as many as you can, one thing my instructor told me was to remember its my first bike, not my last; as in buy something OK to do some miles on, then get the sportsbike of your dreams later Wink

I was more concerned with a decent riding position and a newbie friendly power delivery than anything else to be honest and I think thats what I've got Laughing

Regards

Marcus

mmm...

R6, the most track focussed 600 of the lot. Why that one rather than a CBR600 which is, according to the BCF knowledgeable, a much better street bike.

Have you ridden a sports 600 before? how big are you? will you like the ass up riding position and the weight on your wrists? what do you want it for?

In the end, your choice and your money.

Oh, good luck getting your licence. Thumbs Up

Your first bike an R6 Rolling Eyes

I know it only goes as fast as your right wrist allows you too, but start with something less forgiving Thumbs Up

+1

gotta find what your most comfortable on and the only way to do that is to take a seat on various bikes. as much as the R6 is a stunning looking bike it can be murder on the lower back, wrists, shoulders and neck if your not used to the position.

As I say to most people, look around this forum, there are tonnes of 'what bike next threads', write down the list of bikes you have seen listed, go onto google images, look at all the bikes. Cross off your list the ones you don't like.

Then go out to a few bike shops and look at the ones you do like, and if possible go for a test ride, (if able) if not, at least sit on the bike and get a feel for it - distance from seat to footpeg, how long the reach to handle bar is, that sort of thing...

Then make an informed decision based on what suits YOU.

The R6 would be a bad idea, as to be on honest on the road it wont have it's full potential as they tend to react and move better in higher speeds/ higher revs rather than the normal traffic, the ZX6R has more low speed oomf as I'm told, but then again they both were designed to be track bikes Wink

EDIT: Even the GSXR could be an idea
