Hi guys.

I bought a suzuki ay50 2 months ago

It was running fine for a little while untill i was only starting it up for 5 minutes each day as i didnt have time to ride.

It then cut out on me when riding then started back up fine,it was kind of like a surge of power gone.

It then did it again the next day but started back up fine again.
The next day it wouldnt start up at all and hasnt for a thew weeks

i have bought a new spark plug and will fit that and see if that works.

Im willing to give up to 50 pounds for help over the internet or if your close.

Please help im desperate to get on the road for work

Thanks

josh

I'm not 100% familiar with this scooter but here's the basics that I'd try first.

Pull off the fuel pipe feeding fuel into the carb. No fuel should come out. Pull the pipe off the manifold and suck. Fuel should now come out of the fuel pipe. If it doesnt your out of fuel, fuel filter blocked(If fitted) or fuel tap broken.

If you've got fuel take the carb off, take the top off and check the diaphram isnt damaged or covered in crap. Take the bottom off the carb and clean out the jets with a piece of wire and blowing. Check that the needle valve is working by blowing through the fuel inlet and moving the float up and down. You shouldnt be able to blow with the float up.

Put the carb back on, take the plug out and spin the engine over. Is there a spark ?

If it still wont go then goto the nearest garage and buy a tin of Bradex EasyStart. Give it a squirt into the air filter when the engine is trying to start. If it doesnt start with Bradex, it'll never go.

Let me know how you get on.

Does it have 2 stroke oil where it should have 2T oil and is the oil getting to the engine?
Change the plug.
