You stayed on a 125 for 2 years after passing your test?

Shocked

Do the words 'currently on a ZXR400' not mean anything to you? Wink

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Should easily get a reasonable condition ZX6R for that money or a tatty R6 if insurance isn't also included in your price range. May even find a fair condition K1-3 GSXR 600 or 750.

Insurance aint an issue cos for some reason its cheap as chips for 99.9% of bikes (R1 for example as its highest group I could find: sub £400 TPFT) so sa'll gravy.

I think I will give the GSXR1100K a miss mate tbh, I want to be alive tomorrow! lol

Whats the deal with test rides at used dealers?

Turn up with both parts of licence and take for a spin?

Want to ensure I like the bike to ride etc before parting with dosh.

Defo stick with the kwaks.

I got a CBR600 after selling the zxr400 and i must admit that i havent really "gelled" with it. Kwaks are defo more lairy than hondas, and yeah the zx6r or a zx7r is the best choice.

Where are you and how much are you thinking of selling the zxr for?

Scunthorpe, and whatever it sells for TBH.

Sure you have seen it before on ZXRWORLD etc.

Has since had shorty levers, supercorsa's and K2 GSXR600 brakes fitted.

Also has the original rear fairings in good nick apart from one stone chip and small crack, and rear set/pegs/lock etc.

The thing to do is call up the dealer and let them know you are interested in such and such a bike and would like to book a test ride. You will have to be 21 (sometimes 25) or over to actually be covered by their insurance but some dealers will look the other way if you declare that you are 21 on the insurance form you will have to fill in. They will also probably want to see both parts of your licence before handing over the key.

I am over 21 and my insurance covers me to ride any other bike not owned by me aslong as its insured and I am not riding for hire or reward.

Will ring around a few and see what they say Smile

Need to ride the ZX6R, ZX7R, GSXR and R6 by the looks of it!

I think an early R6 would be a good fit for the experience you are looking for.
It's compact and has the revvyness and quick handling the 400 has - possibly even more so (though of course it still probably makes the same amount of power /before/ you get into the powerband as the 400 does at peak power Smile ).
