Afaik,as long as its securely fitted you shouldn't have a problem with a missing bolt. My bandit was missing one and it passed its mot.

Just replace the bolt and the problem is solved, I mean the bolt is there for a reason isnt it. I would prefer to be safe rather than sorry. Thumbs Up

Thats the bit I dont understand, in N.I it either fails or it doesnt and there is no such thing as an advisory just another test fee which could be anything up to 2 months down the line.

Best of luck with the mot anyway, for ultimate peace of mind you could just give the mot station a bell and ask them if its a fail Wink

Hi

At least that is cheap and easy to fix, and the bike shop probably has the right ones (or a local bearing shop) so no need to wait ordering parts.

Bandit 600 uses 6203 bearings at the front I think.

All the best

Keith

Hi

They are pretty easy to do. Difficult bit is supporting the front end securely when you take the wheel out.

Take the wheel out and remove any outer seals from where the bearings sit. In between the bearings there is a spacer tube. Push this across (might be difficult, and might only move on one side of the wheel) so that you have a lip on the inside of one of the bearings. Use a long punch and hammer to smack the bearing from the other side to push it out, pushing the spacer around so you can hammer the bearings fairly evenly. Once it is out remove the spacer and smack out the other bearing (far easier). Get the new bearings. but a thin smear of grease where the bearing sits in the wheel (helps it slide in), and grease the bearing itself if required. Put the bearing in place, put a suitable size socket on the outer race of the bearing and tap the socket with a hammer to push the bearing in. Once in put the spacer in place and put the other bearing in.

All the best

Keith
