Or you could do single lessons. Mine are costing me £50 per 3 hour lesson. Did one today, according to the instructor I only need another 3 or so. So a grand total of £200 + test fees Neutral

Well i've been on the road for about a year a couple of months, you think a average rider would be able to pass without all that pre-test training bullshit because its looks WAYYYYY to expensive...

Shocked

I paid £325 6 years ago for 3 days training and my test, and I thought that was pretty good! I take it there just test prices (I know the theory is), and exclude any form of training?

Or have things actually gotten cheaper in the last few years?

I was quoted £845 for 5 days training Shocked with tests and bike hire included, with free lessons and bike hire until you pass. Great if you're rubbish, but anyone half competent will lose out here.

I've got my first 3hr lesson tomorrow at £100 including bike, insurance etc, and I'll take it from there.

Theory Saturday morning so fingers crossed...

Just over £290 as I did my theory months ago.

What is the law now on resitting your test if you get banned?

I may have been spotted doing some quite silly speeds a week ago. Dont really fancy having to resit a test to be honest. Do you just get a ban for ~12 months and then get your licence back? Or is it a resit?

From Direct.gov:

Quote:
Disqualification until test pass or extended test pass
If you're disqualified until test pass or extended test pass, to regain your full driving licence you'll need to apply for a provisional driving licence and retake a theory and practical driving test.
Motorcycle riders will need to complete another compulsory basic training (CBT). If you're disqualified until extended test pass, you'll have to sit an extended practical driving test.
To regain your full entitlement to drive all categories of vehicles you previously held, you'll need to pass a test in category A (motorcycle) or B (car).
If you previously held category C (large vehicle) and or D (bus), restoration of entitlement will be subject to the approval of the local traffic commissioner

Yeah, saw you put that! Where are you based? I haven't found anywhere that does it for anywhere near that price.

I've rang quite a few and they're all much the same. One has a package of 12hrs for £399, or 30hrs for £599 with tests on top. The 12hr one is the same, and the other is cheaper but I don't know how many hours I actually need. If I do these 3hrs tomorrow and he sayd 3 more and you're good to go, it's not that expensive really. Paying for 30 up front seems a bit much at this stage.

However, if I'm shite, that's where I'll be off! Wink

Where are you Weegie?

Get out as much as you can, I'm only having a days training as I've done a thousand miles now on my bike and feel ready just about.... It's took me quite a while to feel confident.

I'm just outside of Glasgow.

I had my lesson today and actually got 4.5hrs for my £100! just under 3 on the road and the rest on the pan practising round cones. Really decent guy and for me, worth the money.

He said I could sit Mod 1 on Tuesday if I wanted to Shocked I politely declined as I want a bit more time on the bike first. But all being well I'll be doing it the week after next. Eeek!

I invested £60 for a 4 hr training session around the Mod 1 course and £140 for a days training on the road and passed my Mod 1 and 2 first time.
