Hey guys am thinking about getting a supermoto.

Are the CCM 644 any good? This model is a Dual Sport that I am potentially looking into getting.

Common faults in them and things to look out for in them..
Have they got a good reputation/build quality/engine etc.

If anyone has owned one or has experience of the bike I would love some feedback on it.

(Also....I love the look of these bikes except there is 1 problem..
I am only little compared to these supermotoeeeeees
Just touching 5ft 5 to be precise Sad
Is there any way of making them lower without messing up handling too much. )

Will only be for on road use...well by that I mean no intense motorcross riding !
I know I can shave the seat down a bit but is there any other ways? Quick fixes to lower the forks enough, would I need a new shock.

Any input would be brill.

Thanks.

Remember the 644 model uses a Suzuki DR650 engine; a lot of the other parts are interchangeable with various KTM group bikes too.

Do you mean on road only, or that you'll be using it off road, just not for punishing stuff like motocross?
If purely on road, an obvious thing to do is go for a supermoto which has smaller wheels, so will help your height issues a bit.

Do they not have a cush drive?
I know big singles can be a bit harsher on tyres, but never found a big problem with it myself - at least not compared to bigger sports bikes!

My 404 is actually a little taller than others as it's the 'E' model, but only a little.

Height wise as they say its all about technique Wink
im 5ft 8ish and once you know how its pretty easy and stable.
Yeah they do have cush drives, but they seem to be pretty pants, like said ive wrecked a goldspeed rear and front in around 2k, the most annoying bit about the 604 at least is how things just go, since i bought mine about a month and a half ago ive replaced :
Reg/Rec
Cambelt and tensioner bearing
Throttle cable
Fuel tank tap
Fuel cap
Needs r/h fork seal doing, clutch cable snapped yesterday, and needs the tyres replaced as said. Alot more expensive than the zx636 is Laughing

If you've done the front in too, suspect they're just soft tyres, unless your suspension is way off.
My 404 doesn't actually have a cush drive; didn't seem to be a big problem, but didn't put that massive milage on the road.

My clocks started to go dodgy, but Acumen were really helpful with that - despite moaning that they had lost out from that job when CCM had gone bust/changed management.
The sidestand did break too, but that was partly due to using SM wheels where it was a fair bit more leant over than it should have been.

The 604 engine is of course more power/less reliable then the Suzukis - or should be anyway, as mine's got it's knackered big end bearing Sad.

I was rather unimpressed with the maxis front I had.

Given the choice, I'd go for a Pirelli of some kind - suspect you might be a bit cramped for a 160 rear, but if it'd fit, I'd go for a set of supercorsa scrubs in 120/160.

I was going to try a set of distanzas, but figured I can get away with just a new rear; as summer is pretty much over in Scotland.

I've got a Pirelli MTR01 on the front and had a Continental Contiforce SM on the back.

2000 miles seems to be pretty good for an SM rear.

2000 miles does seem good for a rear SM tyre, mine munches them within 2000 miles.
