RE-REGISTERING A BIKE

hi all,
bit of a strange one this.
turns out this bloke was riding around with the wrong number plate fitted. (he bought it like that)
after a bit of investigating it turns out the wrong paperwork was supplied with the bike.
dvla say it needs re-registering & date of manufacture from maker.
not stolen etc.
what would this entail?
would it be difficult to get the date of manufacture from honda?
bikes cheap enough & i think its only £55 to re-register.
anyone done this recently? is it a long winded process?
bike will need motd anyway, just wondering if its worth pursuing.

Can't say for sure, but I know KTM will provide you with a letter for free if you give them the frame number.
