Not sure If I feel lucky or not, was my own fault for being a twat and riding too quickly but....

Just got followed down a 30mph limit road, was doing various overtakes, for some reason or other, didn't spot the unmarked Golf R32 following me...

Anyway, get to a 40MPH dual carriageway, go round that at a fair speed...

Notice a Golf behind me, lights come on and I pull over at the end.

Guys had the BBC film crew with them for traffic cops or whatever and they're apparantly doing a special on bikes so might end up on that which sucks..

Really gaulled me though because there is apparantly no release notice so they can air the full footage of my riding + me being spoken to by the copper.

Obviously was nice because the options were FPN or Court... Didn't fancy court with what they'd recorded really..

Sucks a little, but wasn't until I left that I've noticed hes also gave me a Section 59 notice... so if I'm right basically any foot wrong and i'm fucked right?

Oh well, lesson learned... Today, I have slayed a number of small kittens and i've been punished for it..

The ride home was the most painfully aggrevating ride ever which sucked arse. My mind at the moment is saying if all riding is going to be bang on the limit all the time whats the point? Should I track the RR and get a CG125?

The RR is an ace bike but it feels wrong riding it slowly, it just
doesn't work or flow..

Anyway, just venting, I know I've got off lightly for being a knob but i'm sure at one point or another most of us have done it.

Just sucks that I've now got a fast bike that might as well be a 125 for all intents.

Camera bloke + copper reckon its likely it'll end up on TV as its one of the worse ones they've apparantly had, and they're doing a bike special...

Sucks arse, should have gone out in the car today.

They need your permission before they can show your face I believe, if that helps.

Where was this by the way?

I asked that but apparantly its public domain and they're entitled to film and show it? It thought this was bollocks. I know someone who works in the TV Biz so I'll ask him about it.

It was on the A259. From the Harleyshute junction in St Leonards on Sea going towards Bexhill.

That and the FPN. I do honestly consider myself lucky on this occasion as I could have been rubber glove loved tbh.

I'm pretty sure photographs/video is all legal to publish without the owners consent. There's certain restrictions on that if they are under a certain age or on private land etc

Think about papperazzi and snapping shots of celebs, if it was so easy to say, "Sorry, I didn't give you permission to use that photo/video" then they wouldn't have a job.

Speak to your pal an see what he says anyway.

Yeah kind of agree.. I remember him saying something ages ago though about beadles about.. when they used to do pranks and stuff on that if the person would sign a notice to allow it to air the whole thing was screwed.. basically they'd spent loads of money on it and then couldn't use the footage.

He was saying that Big Brother (partly due to the nature of it being live) done them upfront saying they can show anything that goes on inside the house..

I'm guessing its different at the side of the road..

Although for filming on public property, I suspect you'd be entitled to a copy of all the footage of which you are the main focus on payment of a small charge under the data protection act.

So did I but it's only when you get to star in one yourself that you realise the powers that be have implemented a bastard system on you.

Option a) Show you're pissed off to our camera with the lack of options presented to you. Go to court, get rubber gloved..

Option b) Be nice to our camera and show that you actually love kittens, we'll deal with it at the roadside.

Each option is essentially shite, but 'b' tends to be a little better. The 'system' we have essentially allows traffic police to be judge/jury/executioner on an offence by laying out 'options' to you. He knows what you're going to pick and it sucks arse.

Ontop of that, he has a weapon more superior than a notepad, a video and audio recording of the whole thing. So you have to be overly careful about anything you say incase it bites your arse.

I'm not so convinced by the public domain argument given, as on Traffic Cops a lot of the people featured are fuzzed out. To be honest, it always seems like the pleasant people have their faces shown, and the not so nice ones don't.

Anyway, shame you got caught. Will look out for you on the tele now though Thumbs Up

at last...i 'know' someone famous! Very Happy

I ride on that road like every single day! I live in hastings, and I've seen that unmarked golf around stopping all sorts of people here and seeing the BBC camera man getting out and filming it. It looks quite intimidating to be honest.

For that reason I've been riding soooo carefully in this town recently! To be fair it is Hastings, a town known a little bit for bikers, and the bike rally we have every may.

Oh, and also that particular stretch of road from the harleyshute junction to glyne gap is just so damn wide.... it's pretty much impossible not to be tempted to go faster than 40, I know I do all of the time while overtaking things. It's just so unfair.

Cool, i've prob seen you at some point or another. I'd seen the Golf once before filming someone when I was in the car and agree it didn't look like fun, and wasn't fun.

Yeah the road is wide and they've just resurfaced it all as well.

I rode past someone who had been pulled over who was also being filmed in Brighton on Brighton Burn Up day.

Wonder if it was the same people/show.....

I dunno if this face blurring is of those peeps what have decided to go to court and because the hearing has not yet happened - are therefore not guilty of anything?

If you catch my drift?

I take it you were nice and p'light to the pleeceman one television and what not....?

Seeing as the normal people on those shows are scrotes who answer back and make the whole situation much worse for themselves it would make a nice change to see someone have a nice logical conversation with the police.

Police.... Laws..... Logical.....? I seem to have forgotten myself....

Yep, nice and polite and didn't argue with anything he said, the only thing i didn't do was admit the speed initially - or at all from what I remember.

I can't see how people get arsey with them because you're in a lose/lose situation. If it's likely to be aired it's not just mates that see it but also family/work colleages etc.

Likewise, it's one of those things that you don't know how certain people you know will react, just easier if its not on to be honest (or at least face not shown). Would appreciate knowing if those guys know what the deal is.

Oddly I did think along those lines at the time but seem to remember them making some people look utter twats by just beeping it constantly - so could make it worse.

To be fair the Camera Guy seemed a nice bloke but the police were certainly hamming it up to the camera.
