hey im finally allowed to lose my restrictions, however when i sent it to my mechanics the washers were not in the carbs like they normally are, and its not restricted at the throttle. any one have any idea's, ive searched online but to no avail.
when i rev it in neutrul, it revs to teh full 16k but when its in gear it will only rev to 5 an half k, with a top speed of a measly 80, but 110 if i really hammer it.
any advice is welcome, as im taking it back into the shop tomorrow so they can look in the inlet tubes.[/i][/b]

Could be restricted in the carbs.

thanks guys, its not in the carbs as we have already had a look at them, was told it by the company it could be in the inlet tubes. so will have a look at that, it shouldnt be factory restricted, its a 1999 bike and its had 9 owners, i think they would have removed them lol.but its worth a mention to my mechanic, thanks again Very Happy

suggesting that their isn't enough fuel / air mix being sucked in.

if there isn't washers in the inlet rubbers, then it is either a throttle stop or different needles / slides / springs in the carbs

The washers will be in the inlet rubbers if they are there. If there are no washers and the carbs have been checked, then it is likely that it is probally in the cdi. What year is the bike? Also don't rule out the poisbility that they could be in the exhaust. However I highly doubt it. Check the inlet rubbers first, then check the cdi, then check exhaust, and if still nothing take off the inlet rubbers all together and they will be stuck behind them.
