Have been with them four years now, never made a claim. Was paying around £140 for both bikes with business use and TPO on any other bike. Renewal came through at £333 Shocked

Phoned up expecting admin error or similar, but no, the best they could get it down to was £274. Seems an odd way of doing business but hey ho - time to start shopping around *sigh*

Ins has gone up big style this year.... Or at least has since about May.

Remember its not Aquote thats the problem. Its the underwriters who set the premiums.
Perhaps a few have dropped out of the market. I'm sure the 1st few months of this year will have hit the underwriters hard with all the muppets who dented their cars etc in that white stuff that fell.

I have 9 years NCB, over 50, driving 6K a year in a cheap group car. Last year £150 FC. This year best I could get was £200.... Given that car is now worth less than last year. When should I have binned it it would have been a swop for new Wink
I'm just wondering what I'm going to be quoted on my bike next year now... Shocked

I think what's causing me a problem is the lack of insurers offering multibike policies (I only have two bikes mind).

Quotes for my TDM 850 at £90 - £110 TPFT. About to get a quote for my TTR250 as a separate policy (but obviously can't use my 4 years NCD on that one too)

Will insurers let you split your NCD - ie. could I put two on each? Only one way to find out I guess...

Computer says no Crying or Very sad

TDM now down to £80, but TTR £217 Shocked as I can't use my NCD.

Edit: Aviva have removed their discount through Aquote, which is why the premium has skyrocketed. Next step is to contact Aviva directly then I guess.

For me bike insurance is not bad.. My recent quotes

RSV Factory (worth 5500 quid) - quote fully comp £900
Bandit (worth 1200 quid) - quote TPF&T only £70

My car insurance with the same insurer is not that great though..

- year ago (2 years NCD) - Aygo 1.0 worth £9000 - fully comp --> £321
- current until the end of this month (3 years NCD) - Aygo 1.0 worth £7000 - fully comp --> £316
- next year (4 years NCD) - Aygo 1.0 worth £5500 - fully comp --> £464 Thumbs Down

Obviously I'll shop around. AA quote is £302

I'm with eBike on a multibike, the XT and the Gasser for £130 FC, might be worth a try.

eBike quoted £270ish - TPFT mind. Maybe FC cheaper.

Aviva don't do multibike - about to try Carol Nash.

If youve recently moved it could be your new postcode, seems quite a leap in price

If I go for just TPO it's down at a half reasonable £133 with Carole Nash (£217 TPFT).

Haven't had TPO cover for fourteen years FFS, but considering both bikes are only worth about a grand a piece, this is probably going to be the way forward considering excess on the policy, etc.

They always do that. I got arsey on the phone when my renewal was £260 and she instantly came back with a quote of £200. I asked why the hell they couldn't have just sent the £200 quote to me in the first place.

All insurance companies are scum, you'll just have to deal with it.

Insurance has definately had a rise these last few months. I got the usual bumped up renewal from Bikesure for my Hayabusa at £330FC. I wasnt ready to insure so I told them to suck me plums and waited it out but I did check online and best quote was £220. In the meantime I found the RSVR and was quoted £275FC for that. Two weeks later I couldnt get the RSVR for any less than £350, the only difference being that the quotes were in 2 different months. Checked with the hayabusa and that was up to £300 too.

First time my insurance has went up in ages!
