Hey guys, yet another question about my ER-5... and I've only been able to legally ride it for a week!

When I put the back brake on to come to a complete stop, I feel and hear a sharp bang, as if something is tensioning sharply.

Now my chain has some tight spots and I'm getting that changed on Thursday, could it be the chain tightening?

And I've made sure my torque arm is tightly attached as well!

For now I'm avoiding using the back brake to come to a stop, just incase something bad happens!

Thanks Guys!

Hi

Wheel spindle tight? Brake shoes in reasonable condition?

All the best

Yeah, wheel spindle is fine, and the brake shoes are not bad.

Could it be a case of adjusting it properly?

It's just loose enough so it's not permanently on...
(Sorry I can be a bit of a numpty at times...)

Hi

Don't think that would cause a bang.

All the best

Op, check your rear wheel bearings for play, if there is any play at all replace them all, also check your cush drive in the rear wheel (located between sprocket carrier and wheel)
