Just went to ride to rugby, got onto the road, few revs.... snap! Chain snapped into two pieces. Bad times.

Recommended to change chain and sprocket at the same time? Rear sprocket doesn't look too bad... chain hasn't been cared for at all (only just got the bike).

Big job to change them?

Chris... busy this weekend Laughing

Cheers

Easy job to change them all. The only stumbling blocks really could be the front sprocket nut and joining the new chain.

Front sprocket nuts can be notoriously difficult to undo and you'll need a chain tool possibly to rejoin the new chain. Failing that a split link to join the ends of the chain or use the hammer method.

Hi

Sprockets are cheap compared to a chain, so seems little point to shorten the chains life by saving on the sprockets.

Hondas often use a plate with 2 small bolts to locate the front sprocket. If this is what you CBR has then it makes like FAR easier than the large nut that is often used.

All the best

Keith

Hi

Will need the chain tools back.

Never heard of DC chains. JT sprockets are fine though.

All the best

Not sure for this weekend at the moment but probably around. However if you need them to help 4dam then best keep it a few more days.

All the best

Do have the one big nut on the front sprocket and don't have the tool to undo it!

About tomorrow night Chris? Very Happy

All sorted, many thanks to Chris.

Was an interesting snap on the chain! I'll post up pics tonight.

Also found out the bike has a scottoiler and fancy suspension Very Happy
