Hi all,

Just bought myself a 03 GPZ500 which I need to restrict. Does anyone know the dimensions of the restrictors? Or even better, does anyone have a set they don't need anymore?

Cheers

Thanks a lot c_dug. Am I right in saying those washers simply sit in the air intake manifold?

Don't think it's worth the risk using washers for a pre-94 gpz ThatHornet. Would kick myself if the bike turned out at 34bhp or something.

I believe so, never got them made in the end, didn't bother with restriction for my 2 years. My TDR was restricted when I got it, the restriction went between the carbs and air box on that.

Just measure the inlets and see where they would fit I guess Laughing

Am I right in assuming this would work on a 2000 GPZ500 as well?

The carbs, ignition curve and valve timing are identical (on paper) between the "new" and "old" ex500 motor.

The only major difference seems to be on the alternator where one has one pickup and the other has two. This is pretty irrelevant in terms of power output, just two ways of doing the same thing.

Hi,

Yes, the picture above is for the 33bhp restriction washers, should be able to get a set cut for next to nothing if you take a wander around a local industrial estate, don't pay the rip off price from the net.

Out of interest, does anyone know what sort of temps get seen between the carbs and the airbox? I possibly need to sort a set of washers, like those above, but I've easier access to plastics and composites than steel and could make some carbon ones at work.

Well considering that the inlet manifolds tend to be rubber, not very high.
