zzr 1100 front brake issue

I have a 1998 D model ZZR 1100 and the front brakes are really poor. Had it in a garage, new front disc and pads, changed to braided hose, bled properly but the lever still travels a great distance before they start to work. anyone any ideas please

You must still have air in the system.

Ensure that there is no air in the highest point, master cylinder first.

Try removing the calliper and bleeding with the nipple above the master cylinder.

thanks for that although the mechanic was 100% happy there was no air left in it.

Regardless of what the mechanic says I'd bet that there is still air in the system. Quite a few calipers can only be bled successfully off the bike so that the bleed nipple is at the highest point, DAMHIK!

thanks for your advice, will take a look at that...

Back bleed it. Get a syringe and a tube and pump the brake fluid in via the open bleed nipple (carefully) with the reservoir cap off.
