Hi All,

Im looking at swapping the disks on my bike (600RR RR7), currently I have got the stock Honda disks on.

However, 21k on the bike and living directly on the seafront has got them in less than perfect nic, they're not terrible but am thinking of replacing them soon.

With the above in mind, any answers to the below questions would help;

1) are wavy disks generally as good or better than OEM for performance?

2) anyone know of decent places (online shops are fine) for disks, seems to be a lot of choice out there, but not so sure on this one.

3) has anyone got any specific recommendations of disks they've used on a 600/1000 sports bike?

Cheers

Rob

Not really. If they're that good why don't superstock/WSBK use them?

If you can already easily lock the front/do stoppies then you have enough brakes for your current chassis anyway.

Personally I'd buy normal ones and use the money you'd saved on something else. Like a trackday, or getting your suspension done.

Unless you want them for the tart value of course, then just buy from the big names, ie Galfer, Braking etc. Avoid the chinese stuff as they're liable to crack then fail.

Cheers Ham,

I had thought that i'd never seen them on a proper racebike, and thats partly what got me wondering.

The ones I have have good feel and could easily lock the front if applied in such a way, stoppies are also possible.

I'm not too into the tart value to be honest, more the functionality, certainly out of such a critical component.

Cheers for the advice Thumbs Up

Try Stealth and see how their prices stack up.
Never used them, but know a few who have been happy.

I'd say avoid Stealth like the plague.

Seems to be a heck of a lot of horror stories on the net about them.
